Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation

This pathway is offered under WISE (Work Integrated Skill Education) initiative of Medhavi Skills University ( A university Established by Sikkim Act,2021 & Recognized by UGC-University Grants Commission- under department of higher education-Ministry of Education-GoI) as Post Graduate Diploma. ( Equivalent to NCrF at Level 6). It is actually and extension of our Short Term Skill Certification which is pegged at NSQF Level 5 and offers students greater flexibility to convert their skill certification into a regular academic degree. This is also considered as a part or first year of M.Voc (Professional Accounting) degree.

Minimum Eligibility for admissions – Any Person of 21 years of age or above with- 

  1. Graduation in commerce/accounting/ finance/business administration/ management/law etc or

  2. Any graduate of other stream with 3 years of experience in accounting, taxation field or  

  3. CA/CMA/CS Intermediate exam passed students with 3 years of experience in accounting, taxation field or

When a candidate completes both semesters successfully he will be awarded with Post Graduate Diploma-Chartered Tax Practitioner from Medhavi Skill University & Also NCVET Approved Professional Skill Qualification from MEPSC enabling him/her to enroll for membership of the Institute at appropriate level !

  • Direct Tax Laws Compliance's   [DTLC]

  • Indirect Tax Laws Compliance's  [ITLC]

Semester II

  • Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship Development- Concept  

  • Business and Technology- Concept 

  • Management Information Systems (MIS)- Concept

  • OJT/Major Project

  • Semester I is core and is direclty mapped to our skill certification, hence it has theory and practical assignments

Please note –

  • Minimum pass  marks are 70% in each subject

  • Each exam is consists of 100 Marks  50 % practical (numerical)/ descriptive questions involving application, decision making, problem solving techniques & 50 % MCQ type questions

  • Further university follows continuous assessment method giving weight age of 70:30 to Skills/ Practicals to Theory, Accordingly scores are calculated

  • Each Exam is Computer Based Assessment with 15 minutes of extra reading time.

  • All are on demand term end exams can be scheduled within the exam windows,

  • Results will be notified via email within 30 days of exam

  • Exam windows are in the month of March, June, September & December

  • Exams can be taken & scheduled remotely from home/ office 

  • Candidate also have to complete Practical Assignments (Project work) as announced from time to time by university

  • Maximum time to pass this section is 12 Months.

  • Course application fees is Rs 2,000/- payable at the time of registration to Medhavi Skills University

  • Course fees is Rs 25,000/- (Includes registration, LMS Access & One time exam fees & Orientation)

  • Re-examination fees for each Module is Rs 250/- (for each paper)

    • CA/CMA Intermediate passed ​are exempt from Module I

    • Some Fully qualified IFAC member bodies professional accountants residing in India are also considered for exemptions on case by case basis 

    • CA/CMA Finalist having 50+ in Taxation papers & CS Qualified can directly take admission for CPA Certification

    • ADIT (CIOT) Members residing in India are exempt from CTPr exams and can become ICTPI members directly

  • Professional Orientation Course- After successfully completing the Course candidate will be required to undergo 7 day professional Orientation program covering Professional Ethics, Personality development & other aspects (On Thematic sessions “Know Laws No Loss”)

  • Career Progression- You can study further to get M.Voc in Professional Accounting degree from Medhavi Skills University after completing this PG Diploma. You'll be exempt from the first two semester of MSU's M.Voc course and you'll be required to complete just two more semesters. ( Application fees of 2,000/- & balance fees of 25,000/- is payable in this case). This way you can enroll for Certified Public Accountant Certification or M.Voc. Degree after completing CTPr- PGDT.

  • Admission are open through out the year but 30th June & 31st Dec is cut off date for taking admission in any cycle, Therefore, upon successful admission each year on 1st Jan & 1st July new batch starts for this program
